Independent Living
Maria supports a group of clients to enable them to retain independent living in their own homes across the Lytham St Annes area.
One example of who Maria supports is Doris. Maria has supported Doris over the past few years, offering companionship and stability through one of the toughest times of someone’s life when she lost her husband Ned.
Maria remembers fondly first meeting Doris and Ned who initially were reluctant to receiving care as they valued their independence so greatly. Maria’s relationship over the years has flourished and described supporting them as love like her own family.
Maria, who is of Italian heritage, used to cook authentic cuisine, just like her family would have done growing up.
Skills & Knowledge
Maria joined us through the pandemic, having had no prior experience in social care before. Maria had worked as a hairdresser since the age of 15. She knew that she loved to care for others and it was this passion that led her to care work.
Maria retains her love for hairdressing and now does part time hours with us, enabling her to fulfil both of her passions. Working in care has also helped Maria in her personal life, equipped with the skills and knowledge to better support her Dad who lives with dementia.
We want people with the same passion for caring for others as Maria has. You don’t need experience, you don’t need qualifications, just a commitment to our shared Clifton Homecare values:

An hourly rate starting from £12 per hour, Salary £24,960 (40 hours per week)
